The leader of the Church unified confirmed Yamagami's mother, the gunman assassinated former Prime Minister Abe, a member.

At a press conference on July 11, the President of the Church unified Japanese Branch Tomihiro Tanaka described the mother of the suspect Tetsuya Yamagami as a long -time member.

Mr. Tanaka added Yamagami not a member of the group and the Church has no direct relationship with former Prime Minister Abe.

The suspect Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, a former member of the Japanese sea defense force, opened fire to assassinate former Prime Minister Abe on July 8.

Yamagami's relatives said he had embraced for a long time with the religious group.

The police have not confirmed the religious group that Yamagami mentioned, but the media all flocked to the Church.

Tetsuya Yamagami hugged hatred for a religious group he thought was related to Mr. Abe, so he decided to assassinate the former Prime Minister.

Security Police, Abe's security unit, is the elite forces of Japan, but made many mistakes when the former Prime Minister was assassinated.
